ABOUT OUR SCRIPT READS
Our Script Reads are a low-pressure way to connect with fellow theatre lovers, discover new plays and enjoy the fun of bringing characters to life, no memorization or audition required. Participants gather to read a selected script aloud, with roles assigned at the start of each session. Whether you’re a seasoned performer, curious newcomer or simply looking to get involved, all are welcome to join in. These are not auditions.

Robin Hood: lusty hero, hopeless lover, or evil criminal? Upon his return from the Crusades, King Richard is forced to try and figure out what happened in his kingdom during his absence. Is the outlaw Robin Hood a hero, a lovelorn sap, or just plain mean? Told from the perspectives of Robin himself, Maid Marian and Prince John, this hilarious tale combines three different stories into one – and with three different endings, leaves it up to the audience to decide which one is true.
WHY WE HOST SCRIPT READS
Script Reads help LCT stay connected between productions and create more opportunities for people to participate in theatre. These are free and open to the public.
They give our community a chance to explore different styles of plays, discover potential future productions, practice reading and storytelling, and welcome new people into the organization without the pressure of a formal audition.
They are also a great way to meet other LCT members, volunteers, performers, and supporters.

what to expect
At each Script Read, we’ll gather as a group, assign roles, and read through the script together. Depending on the script and group size, roles may rotate throughout the session so multiple people have a chance to participate. If you just want to come and listen, that's okay too!
You do not need to prepare anything in advance unless otherwise noted. Just bring yourself, your curiosity, and a willingness to have fun!
